Reunion 2008 -- Update 5 sent on 1/4/08
Dear All,
As we have just over 3 months to go to the Reunion, we will need to get funding in immediately.
The Organizing Committee thought that this reunion would present an excellent way to commemorate our 30^ years of friendship by setting up 2 meaningful funds:
1. two annual bursaries for current ACS students based on needs of $780.00 each (we hope to keep a rolling fund enough for 10 years!), and
2. a Class Fund for our cohort emergencies and / or next of kin of $7,800.00 (we hope none of us will be the recipient of this fund in the near future. Nevertheless it is good to be prepared).
Both funds will remain in our custody, NOT with the school, and we will form a committee to oversee disbursements of the funds at a later date.
Funding for the above two causes have started to come in with donations ranging from $100.00 to $5,000.00. This amount is over and above the $100.00 dinner cost. If you have not done so, I hope that you might consider donating to these causes.
Also, during the reunion dinner we will be remembering our friends who have passed away. If you have any information or pictures of those whom you would like to be included for our remembrance, please e-mail them to Harry Tan at harrytan@pmail.ntu.edu.sg.
If you will not be able to attend our upcoming reunion, you could still send in a scanned photos of yourself with your greetings from wherever you are. We will screen them during dinner.
